Position: Billing Manager
You will be responsible for managing records of all charges for services rendered at CFCE, including claims management from insurance submission to patient billing and cost center reconciliation. This role requires a flexible work schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire billing cycle, including creating, submitting, and tracking claims to patients and third-party payers both manually and electronically
- Ensure billing data accuracy and proper coding using CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM codes
- Reconcile claims data with clinical documentation and correct discrepancies
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, initiate appeals, and resolve financial issues within designated timeframes
- Reconcile lab invoices with EHR system
- Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, and pre-authorizations for all patients, including Medicaid and sliding fee scale assessments
- Contact insurance providers to confirm reimbursable services and payment rates
- Assess coverage eligibility and apply correct billing rules
- Analyze medical records, documentation, and treatment plans to assign accurate codes
- Provide coding and billing practice training to staff and providers
- Assist with coding audits, ensuring documentation supports submitted codes
- Coordinate posting payments and adjustments, monitor balances, and pursue collections
- Promote patient satisfaction through customer-centric billing practices
- Participate in ongoing training on billing regulations and coding updates
- Collaborate with providers to ensure billing accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with month-end closing and billing initiatives
Minimum Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management preferred
- At least two years’ experience managing billing in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting preferred
- Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) preferred
Skills and Experience Needed:
- Medical and dental health knowledge and experience
- Current knowledge of healthcare environment and program operations
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, communication, management, and supervisory skills
- Background in Accounting or Business
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexible schedule availability
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Valid auto insurance, current driver’s license, and access to a reliable vehicle
