Job summary

Color is hiring a Billing Implementation Specialist to lead payer onboarding and billing setup from kickoff to go-live. You will coordinate end-to-end implementations, guide payers through the process, and drive timelines while mitigating risks, ensuring successful launches and scalable billing workflows.

The role requires 5+ years in revenue cycle, strong communication, and cross-functional collaboration with Customer Success, Revenue Cycle, and Product teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in revenue cycle management, payer relations, billing operations or customer implementation.
• Experience working with health plans, TPAs, provider organizations, or healthcare billing.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple implementations simultaneously.
• Comfortable leading meetings with external partners.
• Strong follow-up and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to independently drive work forward and resolve issues.
• Understanding of CPT/HCPCS codes, payer credentialing, and claim lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end billing implementations for new payer and health plan launches, from kickoff through billing readiness and go-live.
• Guide payers through standard billing implementation processes, including meetings, billing setup, claims testing, and milestones.
• Own implementation timelines, track progress, and escalate risks or blockers as needed.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies for successful billing operations.
• Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for payer billing representatives and collaborate with Customer Success Managers.
• Answer implementation questions, facilitate meetings, and resolve issues to ensure successful launches.
• Track billing KPIs (first-pass claim acceptance, denial rates, payment turnaround).
• Configure billing integrations via major payer networks (EDI or API).
• Validate member eligibility and ensure accurate payer setup for adjudication.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for compliant billing practices.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to payer setup and denials.
• Maintain implementation documentation and trackers for scalable onboarding.
• Analyze billing workflows to identify opportunities for automation and optimization.
