Job summary

U.S. Legal Support is seeking a Billing Disputes Specialist to join our high-volume billing operations team in Houston.

You’ll ensure billing accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and support a seamless client experience through meticulous invoice processing and post­ing reliability. You will collaborate with internal teams, respond to client inquiries, and create ad hoc reports while maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of billing experience, preferably in legal or professional services.
• Experience working directly with clients on billing matters.
• Strong knowledge of billing processes, rate tables, and invoice review.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• High level of professionalism and discretion with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Process and generate invoices in a high-volume environment.
• Ensure all finalized invoices are accurately posted in the billing system.
• Review billing for accuracy, including rates, line items, and required documentation.
• Adhere to client-specific billing guidelines and rate tables.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve billing discrepancies such as incorrect rates, missing information, or invalid charges.
• Initiate and track billing disputes through resolution.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve client-reported issues.
• Respond to billing inquiries from clients, attorneys, and internal stakeholders.
• Create ad hoc reports using multiple data sources as needed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
