Job summary

Phoenix Technology Partners, LLC is seeking a Billing & Collections Supervisor to lead invoicing, collections, and policy development for the firm’s finance team in New York City. You will drive revenue optimization and ensure timely client billing in alignment with guidelines and fee arrangements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of billing and collections experience, with substantial work in midsize or large law firms.
• Proven track record in optimizing revenue, reducing AR cycle time, and supervising teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement billing and collections strategies to optimize revenue and cash flow.
• Manage invoicing processes and ensure accurate, timely client invoices per guidelines and fee arrangements.
• Build relationships across finance, practice groups, and partners.
• Ensure coverage during peak periods (year-end, month-end).
• Develop or maintain billing policies to comply with regulator, internal, and client requirements.
• Oversee collections process and monitor outstanding receivables.
• Monitor client accounts to address billing and collection issues proactively.
• Collaborate with attorneys to resolve billing disputes and inquiries.
• Lead and mentor the billing and collections team; provide training and support.
• Provide periodic reports and analysis on billing/AR metrics to assess financial health.
• Maintain strong client relations and handle sensitive information discreetly.
• Identify opportunities to improve billing efficiency and accuracy.
• Review billing and AR data to identify trends and improvement areas.
• Respond to billing and AR inquiries and provide monthly updates on unbilled time and AR status.
