Job summary

CF Legal Recruiting and Staffing is seeking a Billing & Collections Supervisor for a leading law firm in New York. The role oversees the firm’s billing and collections processes and reports to the Revenue Manager to maximize revenue and ensure timely client fee collections.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of billing and collections experience in midsize or large law firms.
• Minimum of 3 years in a supervisor role.
• Strong leadership and analytical skills; ability to collaborate with attorneys and clients.
• Proficiency with legal billing systems and software (preferably 3E Elite).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective billing and collections strategies to optimize revenue generation and cash flow for the firm.
• Manage the billing process, including the accurate and timely preparation and distribution of client invoices in accordance with client guidelines and fee arrangements.
• Build strong relationships across finance as well as practice groups and partners.
• Ensure coverage during busy times (year-end, month-end).
• Oversee the collections process, ensuring prompt and efficient collection of outstanding receivables.
• Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to resolve billing disputes and inquiries from clients.
• Provide monthly updates on unbilled time and AR status, including reports and metrics.
