Schlaupitz Madhavan, P.C. (SMCPA) is a growing CPA and advisory firm seeking an experienced Accounting Analyst to support billing, collections, and accounting operations at our Troy office.

You will manage the client billing lifecycle, monitor AR, and support monthly accounting processes, financial reporting, and operational analysis alongside leadership and engagement teams. You will bring five+ years of accounting experience, strong reconciliations and journal entries skills, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in accounting, finance, billing, accounts receivable, or a related field.
• Strong experience in reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• Experience with client account management and financial reporting; familiarity with QuickBooks or practice management systems preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to work with leadership, engagement teams, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage the client billing lifecycle, including WIP analysis and drafting invoices.
• Monitor accounts receivable and collections and administer client holds.
• Analyze WIP and identify billing opportunities to improve revenue realization.
• Maintain accurate client and billing information and employee bill/cost rates.
• Prepare monthly accounts receivable, WIP aging, realization, and production reports.
• Support month-end close with reconciliations and journal entries.
• Manage accounts payable, including preparation and issuance of 1099s.
• Assist with cash receipts, bank deposits, and reconciliations.
• Identify process improvements and support special projects.
• Provide support to Directors as needed.
