As a Billing Clerk, you would be asked to assist office teammates and all customers by handling office tasks, providing polite and professional assistance via phone and e-mail, and generally being a helpful and positive presence in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Documents detailed notes on accounts as needed to communicate account status and to document account queries for both internal and external parties.
  2. Identifies trends affecting the client's A/R; collaborates with the operational team to ensure the client's account and works it daily on a timely basis.
  3. Reviews the status of open accounts and contacts insurance companies and customers to resolve unpaid claims.
  4. Enter customer and insurance information in Workcenter2.0 and Excel spreadsheets.
  5. Answers or returns phone call to customers or clients regarding account status in a timely manner.
  6. Contacts and/or checks insurance company portals to resolve payment denials and claim correction issues.
  7. Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances.
  8. Files charges and payments in accordance with the current filing methods in place.
  9. Follows Management policies and procedures.
  10. Reports compliance concerns.
  11. Participates in corrective action for compliance related issues as needed.
  12. Cooperates with compliance auditing, and investigations.
  13. Other duties as assigned.
  14. Accepts additional responsibilities willingly.
  15. Cross-training on all systems to ensure a check and balance internally.
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED (preferred)
  • Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Skills/Physical Demands/Competencies

This is a role in a fast-paced office environment. Some filing is required which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bending or standing as necessary. Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law.
