Responsibilities include handling private pay collections after denials, verifying benefits, and communicating with payers and patients.

• Proficient in professional communication with customers and coworkers.
• Experience or training in medical billing or related field.

Responsibilities

• Enter charges accurately and expeditiously for proper records and fast payment responses.
• Initiate private pay collections after insurance cancellation or denial.
• Obtain referrals and pre-authorizations as well as eligibility and verification of benefits.
• Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software (electronic/paper).
• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle.
• Check insurance payments for accuracy and contract compliance.
• Identify and bill secondary/tertiary insurances.
• Maintain accuracy of rate tables and inform management of rate changes.
• Communicate policy changes to management and liaise with payers when needed.
• Troubleshoot accounts receivable problems and assist the billing team.
