Job summary

LifePath Systems seeks a Billing Specialist to perform moderately complex medical billing and AR follow-up tasks. You will batch/submit claims to multiple insurers, enter EOBs, payments and denials, re-work rejections, and handle appeals and records requests. Dual-coverage billing is monitored for accuracy.

Reports monitor claims and AR; collaboration with peers, consumers and management is essential. Strong knowledge of billing rules, 2+ years exp, MS Word/Excel, and a valid Texas license are

Qualifications

• Knowledge of billing and coding requirements, regulations and claims clearinghouse experience is a must.
• Two (2) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferences: Minimum 3 years billing experience.
• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license.

Billing Specialist

Education, Training And Experience (including Licensure And Certification)

• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED);
• Two (2) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of billing and coding requirements, regulations and claims clearinghouse experience is a must.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Preferences: Minimum 3 years billing experience.

• Must have good communication skills, be well organized, a self-starter and be able to complete assigned duties in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, medical practice management systems and intermediate computer operational skills is a plus.
