Job summary

The Pottawattamie County WIC Program seeks a part-time bilingual support staff member to assist Spanish-speaking families in both verbal and written communication. Duties include data entry in the WIC system, issuing benefits and eWIC cards, greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and participating in outreach events.

Ideal candidates communicate well with the public in English and Spanish, type accurately, and have basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Able to type accurately and use basic computer software.
• Good communication and public-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Input client information into the WIC computer system according to policy.
• Issue WIC benefits, vouchers, and eWIC cards; greet clients at reception.
• Translate for Spanish-speaking families in verbal and written form.
• Update client records and transfer information between agencies as needed.
• Follow up on missed appointments and newly eligible participants.
• Attend mandatory meetings and answer phones to schedule appointments.
• Participate in outreach activities and perform related duties.
