Maternal and Family Health Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Program Assistant for our Scranton WIC location to support data collection and eligibility screenings, ensuring delivery of benefits and nutrition education to eligible clients in line with organizational goals and program procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (associates preferred), bilingual English/Spanish, and ability to lift 25 lbs.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree preferred but not required.
• 1-3 years of experience preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
• Criminal background and clearances as specified.

Mansioni

• Explain program purpose and what to expect during the appointment.
• Verify identification, residency, income eligibility; ask about voter status.
• Perform and record hematological and anthropometric measurements.
• Provide nutrition and breastfeeding contacts per policy.
• Explain WIC food instruments, list, and E-WIC card use.
• Provide and document referrals to clients.
• Schedule WIC appointments per guidelines.
• Attend regular training sessions and updates.
