Qualifications

  • At least two years of college coursework or an Associate's degree.
  • Fluency in English and one target language (Creole, French, or Spanish).
  • Ability to support instruction in a small-group setting under supervision of certified staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and mandated instructional minutes.

Position Overview

New London Public Schools is seeking dependable, bilingual tutors to support our multilingual learners through small-group instruction, under the supervision of certified educators. This part-time role is ideal for individuals passionate about education, language support, and student success.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with certified staff to identify student needs and plan instruction
  • Provide instructional support in a small-group, push-in setting
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and mandated instructional minutes
  • Communicate regularly with certified staff regarding student progress
  • Use instructional materials provided by certified staff
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or ESOL Teacher
  • At least two years of successfully completed college coursework or an Associate's degree or proof of fluency
  • Ability to manage student learning programs under the guidance of certified staff
  • Proficiency in English and one or more of the following target languages:
    • Haitian Creole/English
    • French/English
    • Spanish/English
  • Reliability and a strong commitment to consistent scheduling
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience working in a classroom setting
  • Experience and/or training in supporting English Learners
