Job summary

St. Andrew Catholic Church is seeking a Youth Care Worker to supervise and care for Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) under the direction of the Lead and Evening/Weekend Supervisors.

The role focuses on health, safety, and trauma-informed care, meeting physical, social, emotional, educational, and recreational needs in line with policy. You will maintain professional relationships, document accurately, support daily activities, and help teach life skills while following standards and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, human services or social service fields, or minimum high school diploma with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Experience working with children in a residential setting is preferred.
• Reliable transportation; valid driver license; valid vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining positive, supportive and professional relationships with UAC and program staff.
• Completing all required documentation for UAC accurately and within required timeframes.
• Ensuring that the resident to staff ratio is properly maintained at all times.
• Utilizing positive behavior management techniques including verbal redirection, prompting, reminders, de-escalation and emergency behavior intervention.
• Responsible for the overall care, supervision and safety of children in care.
