The Archdiocese of San Antonio is seeking a Transporter to coordinate and implement transportation services for unaccompanied children, escorting them safely to their release destinations. Under the general direction of the Assistant Program Director, the Transporter will monitor travel plans, communicate issues, stay on-call as required, and ensure compliance with agency policies and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in child welfare or related social services.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record and auto insurance.

Responsabilités

• Coordinating travel tickets and communicating travel plans with sponsors.
• Maintaining supervision and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of UAC while in transport.
• Anticipating transportation needs of the program and coordinating efforts to complete.
• Ensuring that all vehicle registration and insurance documentation is available in vehicles.
• Ensuring that documentation for transportation is completed in accordance with agency policy.
• Maintaining the safety and well‑being of children through supervision and crisis management when necessary.
• Deliver client services and daily interactions within the Sanctuary Model framework.
• Documenting and reporting serious incidents completely and timely to supervisor.
• Utilizing positive child management techniques including de-escalation and containment.
• Reporting to work in a timely manner as assigned and scheduled.
• Abiding by traffic laws and agency transportation policies.
• Assuring transportation services promote best practices and trauma-informed care.
• Assuming ON-CALL duties after regular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Participating in enhancement of living and working environment for residents and employees.
• Attending administrative meetings and team-building activities.
