Job summary

New London Public Schools is seeking a Bilingual Transition Liaison to support bilingual students and families as they transition into the high school environment. You will serve as a cultural and linguistic bridge, ensuring equitable access to school resources, counseling, and support services.

The role involves interpreting, translating documents, collaborating with staff, and helping families understand graduation requirements and programs.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a school or educational setting.
• Familiarity with the high school education system and student support services.
• Experience with interpretation and translation in an educational context.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support bilingual students transitioning into the high school environment.
• Act as interpreter during meetings, phone calls, and school events involving non-English-speaking families; translate documents.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support student success and family engagement.
