Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington seeks a Training Specialist to support the DC Pre-Apprenticeship Construction program. You will help prepare lesson plans, conduct trainings, administer tests, and maintain student records and case notes.

The role includes tutoring, client intake, data reporting, and collaboration with workforce development teams to help clients gain and retain employment. Bilingual Spanish-English required.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish-English required; able to communicate effectively with diverse clients.
• Experience using computers in a Windows-based environment.
• Minimum 1 year in a training environment.
• Experience working with the Latino community is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Program Supervisor on publicity, outreach, student enrollment, orientation, and operations per project quality standards.
• Conduct classroom training sessions and substitute for instructors; attend regular meetings with teachers, students, and coordinators.
• Provide student tutoring and support during site visits (educational, Habitat training).
• Administer student tests (including CASAS, PACT, NCEER) and track certifications.
• Administer satisfaction surveys to students and contractors; collaborate with workforce development staff to ensure client resources for employment readiness.
