Job summary

Smiths Detection in the United States is seeking a Technical Trainer (Cargo, Bilingual) to deliver operator and technical trainings to internal staff, service partners, and customers in Ports and Borders. The role requires ISD-based material review and collaboration with SMEs, PM, and other stakeholders to ensure content meets customer needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma minimum; college degree acceptable but not required.
• Active certification from ATD, ACCET, or Langevin preferred.
• Must be able to speak fluent Spanish.
• 3–5 years of training experience, ideally within industry or government.
• Willingness to obtain and retain U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver operator and technical training at customer sites; travel up to 90% at peak times.
• Utilize ISD methodologies to drive continuous improvement of materials.
• Collaborate with SMEs, PMs and stakeholders to ensure current content.
• Explain safety practices and operate within HSE and export control guidelines.
• Prepare for local safety protocols and adapt to varied equipment complexity.
• Participate in program reviews and assist with material revisions with input from the team.
