Job summary

You will assist with IEP and 504 accommodations, track student progress, and reinforce safe, respectful classroom routines while engaging families and specialists in intervention planning.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 48 college credits or ParaPro per DC standards.
• Minimum 1 year of elementary education experience.
• Requires professional language proficiency in English; bilingual in Spanish or French for TL immersion classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Deliver differentiated literacy, math, and core instruction in small groups or one-to-one.
• Assist with IEP goals, 504 accommodations, and language milestones tracking.
• Lead classroom in Lead Teacher's absence to maintain continuity and safety.
• Prepare instructional materials and displays; manage classroom organization.
• Support restorative routines and social-emotional learning; reinforce positive behavior.
• supervise transitions, lunch, and recess to ensure safety and smooth flow.
• Collect and share student performance and behavior data with teachers and specialists.
• Engage families through school events and conferences; maintain respectful communication.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
