Job summary

Delta-T Group is seeking a Bilingual Educational Aide to support students in a Washington, DC area classroom. The role focuses on bilingual instructional assistance, motivating learners, and assisting teachers with activities and materials.

The position is TEMPORARY and requires Spanish language skills, patience, and teamwork. Opportunities include ongoing training, diverse client assignments, and weekly payments, with an emphasis on safe, inclusive education for students with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or coursework in education preferred.
• Ability to speak, read and write English and the language representative of ELL populations.
• Experience with children, especially those with special needs, is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supportive learning environments.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.
• Ability to assist students with mobility and activities requiring bending, lifting, or standing.

Responsibilities

• Supports students with diverse needs in a school environment, fostering an inclusive and positive atmosphere.
• Provide individualized assistance to students with special needs or disabilities, helping them engage in classroom activities.
• Assist with personal hygiene, mobility, and daily living skills as needed, ensuring the well-being of students.
• Support students in completing assignments and understanding instructional material, facilitating their academic growth.
• Implement strategies to promote positive behavior and assist with behavioral interventions as directed by teachers or special education staff.
• Monitor students during class, lunch, and recess to ensure safety and appropriate social interactions.
• Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and any significant observations for reporting purposes.
• Participate in training and workshops to enhance skills and stay informed about best practices in education and student support.
• Primarily in a classroom setting, with responsibilities that may include outdoor supervision during breaks.
