Job summary

The French American School of Denver seeks a Special Education Teacher to deliver inclusive, data-driven instruction in a bilingual environment aligned with Colorado standards.

You will develop IEPs, monitor student progress, and collaborate with parents and staff in a 20-hour-per-week, .5 FTE role with a salary range of $30,000–$35,000. The position emphasizes equity, professional development, and compliant practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and completion (or current enrollment) in a CDE-approved preparation program for Special Education Generalist
• Current Colorado Special Education Generalist license/endorsement or eligibility for licensure with required exams
• Eligibility for reciprocity from out-of-state license and willingness to fulfill Colorado requirements

Responsibilities

• Create and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with parents and staff
• Attend initial and triennial IEP meetings
• Communicate progress with parents on a regular basis
• Develop student support plans and coordinate with general education teachers
• Collaborate with district special education team and administrators
• Incorporate IEP goals into daily schedules and track progress
• Observe and interpret results of tests and assessments
• Collaborate with staff to plan inclusive programs
• Demonstrate knowledge of special education law and documentation
• Communicate effectively in writing and speech
• Work with all staff to share special education expertise
