Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Fluent or working knowledge of both English and Spanish.
• Ability to interpret and translate in educational settings.
• Ability to proofread translated materials in English and Spanish.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation between students, parents, and staff in meetings and enrollments.
• Interpret simultaneously or consecutively into Spanish while preserving meaning.
• Prepare translations of District documents and materials.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical canons of interpreting.
• Support with scheduling conferences and contacting parents as needed.
• Assist with written translations of technical and educational materials.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and administrators to facilitate communication.
