Volunteers of America–Greater New York (VOA–Greater New York) seeks a Social Worker to provide comprehensive on-site social services for residents in domestic violence programs. The role ensures health, safety, and quality service delivery while meeting contractual and regulatory requirements.

The position emphasizes trauma-informed care, clinical supervision, and coordination of shelter teams to support residents’ transition to independence.

Qualificações

• Master’s degree in social work or Mental Health Counseling; LMSW or LMHC expected within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the social service field.
• Knowledge of behavioral health classifications, trauma, and recovery-oriented approaches; experience with diverse populations.
• Experience working with survivors of Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct intake and assessment, orient clients to the program and assess service needs.
• Manage a caseload through shelter stay, guiding ILP goals.
• Provide case management and therapeutic interventions (family, individual, group counseling).
• Coordinate housing search, employment prep, and housing referrals.
