Job summary

Lukos is seeking a Social Worker/Custody and Removal Coordinator in Calexico, CA. The role supports ICE detention facilities and ERO staff by addressing victim support, trauma, health care, and safety needs for detained noncitizens.

The position emphasizes bilingual English/Spanish communication, case management, and coordination of services within a high-security, multilingual environment. Strong ethics and collaboration with DHS colleagues are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social work, Psychology, or an equivalent degree.
• Master's degree or an equivalent advanced degree preferred but not required
• Fluent in English and Spanish, written and oral

Responsibilities

• Assist detained noncitizens with intake questions and high-priority issues.
• Support ERO staff with parent/child communications and child welfare matters.
• Coordinate disability accommodations with detention facilities and HQ.
• Assist with policy compliance and detentions standards, facilitating communication with detainees.
• Address questions about noncitizens and available services.
• Provide referrals to care and follow-up for medical, mental health, chaplain, etc.
• Support specialized housing units for vulnerable populations and manage release/removal resources.
• Provide language interpretation for facility and ERO staff when needed.
• Lead wellness checks and follow-ups for detainees upon request.
