Job summary

Lukos is hiring a Social Work / Custody and Removal Coordinator in Calexico, CA. The CRC will support ICE detainee staff, provide trauma-informed services, and coordinate communications for victims, families, and medical care.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology, fluency in English and Spanish, and experience with vulnerable populations. A master’s degree is preferred. This is a full-time on-site position with federal service elements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social work, Psychology, or an equivalent degree.
• Master’s degree or equivalent advanced degree preferred but not required.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Assist with needs, requests, and complaints from the detained noncitizen population.
• Assist with parent/child communication and child welfare involvement.
• Coordinate disability accommodations with detention facilities.
• Facilitate discussions on policy and detention standards with detained noncitizens.
• Provide language interpretation for facility and ERO staff.
• Conduct wellness checks and follow-ups for vulnerable individuals.
• Meet newly detained noncitizens during intake to address questions and provide orientation.
• Develop and maintain a national resource database for release and removal.
• Support specialized housing units and programs for vulnerable populations.
