Job summary

A&K Railroad Materials, Inc. in Kansas City, KS, is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead a 20+ person production team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity on all shifts.

The ideal candidate will be bilingual (English/Spanish), have prior supervisory experience in manufacturing, and excel at coaching, prioritizing work, and communicating with maintenance, quality, and operations to keep production moving smoothly.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish communication required.
• Experience supervising 20+ employees in manufacturing.
• Strong leadership, safety, and quality focus.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise 20+ production employees with clear safety, quality, productivity, and attendance expectations.
• Assign employees to work areas and tasks based on production requirements.
• Monitor production, workflow, staffing, and productivity during the shift.
• Coach employees, provide feedback, and address performance concerns.
• Communicate delays, equipment issues, material shortages, and quality concerns to management.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Production, and other departments to keep operations moving.
• Conduct or participate in shift meetings and maintain accurate production documentation.
• Ensure adherence to procedures, safety requirements, and PPE standards.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a safe, professional production environment.
