Job summary

Compass Connections is seeking a Shelter Manager for our Cameron facility in Los Fresnos, TX. The role leads shelter operations, supervises staff, and ensures compliance with federal and state guidelines to create a safe, nurturing environment for children in care.

You will coordinate shift schedules, support treatment planning, and maintain secure campus operations while upholding agency policies. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, sociology, or related field.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Minimum of one year related experience.
• First aid, CPR, and emergency behavior intervention certifications.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Meet federal and state regulatory guidelines for the position.
• Supervise shift schedules and staff assignments.
• Monitor zone supervisors and document daily progress per policies.
• Assist with orientation of new children and staff.
• Contribute to development of treatment plans as appropriate.
• Maintain safe campus with rounds and radio protocol.
• Plan and supervise activities for children per daily schedule.
• Model positive behavior for the service population.
• Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Follow Compass Connections safety protocols during emergencies.
