O’Reilly Auto Parts in Pittsfield, MA is seeking a Retail Service Specialist to support the Store Manager and Assistant Managers in sales, customer service, store appearance, and operations. This role will assume shift management responsibilities when needed and welcomes bilingual candidates.

The position emphasizes leading by example, maintaining high service standards, and accurately handling transactions and store processes to ensure smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, ensuring team member execution on customer service programs such as related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, and Rock the Lot.
• Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
• Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders timely, and contact customers upon shipment arrivals as needed.
• Handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure, utilizing the electronic outside purchase order ledger.
• Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently, issue refunds accurately using the correct payment methods, and stage returned merchandise in the returns area correctly.
• Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before product leaves the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
• Ensure team members adhere to the posted work schedule, obtain approval for changes/deviations from management, and clock in/out according to company policy.
• Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day‑end procedures, verifying and securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits as needed, ensuring all night security lights are on, locking doors and securing the building, arming/disarming security alarms, and checking and securing delivery vehicles parked in the designated secure area.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
