Qualifications

• Must have medical terminology knowledge.
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
• Experience with ICD coding is desired.
• Strong customer service skills required.
• Knowledge of third-party payer requirements a plus.
• Highly motivated and a proactive team player.

Responsibilities

• Identify primary and secondary payers.
• Determine if services are in or out of network and alert patients to cost differentials.
• Identify and meet payer requirements for immediate admission notification, precertification, referrals or authorization.
• Collect payment in full including co-payments and deposits.
• Prepare patient's chart.
• Communicate patient rights and responsibilities.
