Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark’s Immigrant & Refugee Services Division seeks a Case Worker/Case Worker Assistant to provide case management for Refugee Program clients. The Case Worker will guide intake, planning, and referrals across social, medical, and legal services, while the Case Worker Assistant supports these activities.

Qualifications

• Case Worker requires a Bachelor’s degree.
• Case Worker Assistant requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole.
• Ability to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Willingness to collaborate with team members in a nonprofit setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake and service planning for refugee clients, including asylees, refugees, parolees, Cuban-Haitian entrants, and Special Immigrant Visa holders.
• Provide individualized assistance to clients by identifying their needs.
• Write action plans to help clients obtain and pursue services.
• Prepare case write-ups and referrals to social, medical, and legal services.
• Coordinate referrals to County Board of Social Services, employment, housing, and English language training.
• Conduct monthly check-ins and case follow-up meetings with clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
