Job summary

Mental Health Association seeks a full-time Bilingual Prevention Specialist to serve Spanish-speaking consumers and families through the NJ4S Hub in Morris and Sussex Counties. The role focuses on prevention strategies and coordinating with local services to improve student well-being.

The NJ4S Hub will deploy evidence-based prevention and intervention, integrate with state and local services, and provide universal and targeted supports within high-need districts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services related field required.
• Applicants must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• At least three years of experience in a non-profit social service environment.
• Experience with evidence-based practice models and training/coaching.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy including data entry and MS Office.
• Well organized with good interpersonal skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with consultants, school districts, and community service providers to facilitate trainings and workshops.
• Maintains program documentation and assists in data collection and evaluation processes.
• Implements evidence-based prevention services with fidelity to students, faculty and families.
• Trains students and school faculty to identify signs of mental health concerns and address related risk factors.
• Participates in NJ4S trainings and ongoing professional development.
• Fosters relationships with community partners and emergency mental health providers in Northern NJ.
• Supports and strengthens collaboration with stakeholders and works with other prevention leaders.
• Meets productivity levels for direct service provision and performs other duties as assigned.
