Job summary

United Future is seeking a Spanish-speaking Phlebotomist for a contract role in Adelphi, MD. The position runs Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, for an initial 3-month duration with potential for permanent placement.

Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring accurate documentation while complying with OSHA and DEP regulations. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture work experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and venipuncture procedures.
• Label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure correct labeling.
• Maintain specimen integrity according to procedures and regulations.
