Job summary

Vogrinc Search Group in Adelphi, MD seeks a Spanish-speaking Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The shift is Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, in a fast-paced clinical lab environment.

Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and centrifuging specimens, maintaining accurate records, ensuring proper transport and storage, and complying with OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique with needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label/centrifuge/freeze as required.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per required temperatures.
• Ensure OSHA and DEP regulations are followed; attend annual trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
