Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Pharmacy Clerk to provide in-person and telephone reception, process new prescriptions and refills, and support pharmacy staff. You will enter information into the PIMS system, handle cash transactions, and assist with merchandise sales in a fast-paced environment.

Strong customer service, English communication skills, and basic math are essential. Bilingual English/Spanish is required for this location; background check is required.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and telephone reception skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to read, understand and transcribe pharmaceutical information.
• Demonstrated mathematical skills.
• MUST PASS BACKGROUND CHECK.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 1–50 lbs.
• Bilingual English/Spanish Level I required.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person and telephone reception to patients.
• Receive new prescriptions and refills with proper documentation.
• Enter patient and prescription information into PIMS.
• Process prescription refills and communicate with providers when needed.
• Place filled prescriptions in appropriate containers for sale.
• Sell prescriptions and other pharmaceutical merchandise to members.
• Record transactions and handle cash/credit payments securely.
• Maintain orderly, clean work area and ensure safety standards.
• Assist with inventory and restocking as needed.
• Follow cash handling policies and prepare deposits.
