Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Ventura, CA is seeking an entry-level Pharmacy Clerk to support in-person reception, prescription processing, and cash handling in a busy outpatient pharmacy environment.

You will enter patient data into PIMS, verify prescriptions, and prepare items for delivery or pickup, while providing excellent customer service to members. This part-time role requires standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and telephone reception skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English-speaking communication skills.
• Ability to read, understand and transcribe pharmaceutical information.
• Demonstrated mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• MUST PASS BACKGROUND CHECK.
• Requires standing for long periods of time, and communicates with co-workers and patients.
• Ability to lift/transport 1-50 lbs.
• Light to moderate carrying, pulling, pushing, walking and frequent bending, stooping and reaching.

Responsibilities

• Provides in-person and telephone reception to patients.
• Receives new prescriptions and refills with correct documentation.
• Enters required patient information into the pharmacy system (PIMS).
• Processes prescription refill authorizations and communicates with providers.
• Prepares prescriptions for delivery by mail or UPS upon request.
• Sells prescriptions and pharmaceutical merchandise to members with accurate transactions.
• Maintains cash register, deposits, and daily cash summaries.
• Supports inventory and merchandising in the pharmacy.
