Job summary

Bento Sushi is seeking a People Operations Coordinator to provide administrative and operational support across HR functions in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting at our Fullerton site.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish communication, 1–3 years of HR experience, and knowledge of California employment laws. You will manage onboarding, recruiting support, records, training, and employee services, with opportunities for growth and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
• 1-3 years of Human Resources, administrative, recruiting, or employee support experience highly preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, food production, distribution, or a related environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
• Combination of office and food manufacturing environments.
• Regular interaction with hourly and salaried employees.
• Frequent walking through production, warehouse, and operational areas.
• Must be able to work in environments that may include varying temperatures, noise levels, and food production activities.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and use standard office equipment throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operational support across People Operations functions (recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, records administration, training coordination, benefits support, compliance tracking).
• Manage job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communications.
• Assist with offers, pre-employment documentation, onboarding, and I-9 verifications.
• Maintain accurate employee files and onboarding documentation.
• Coordinate employee events, communications, and engagement activities.
• Support employee relations and respond to policy, benefits, payroll questions.
• Assist with HR audits, compliance tracking, and required reporting.
• Ensure California labor law and food manufacturing compliance in People Operations activities.
