Job summary

City and County of Denver seeks a Peer Support Specialist to assist clients within the Office of the Municipal Public Defender. You will provide peer support, resource navigation, and client-centered representation in collaboration with attorneys in a court setting.

Role emphasizes trauma-informed care, relationship-building, and coordination with multiple systems to connect clients with housing, health, and community resources.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Experience: At least 1 year providing peer support, volunteer or professional.
• Bilingual ability in Spanish is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support, resource navigation, and mitigation under attorney supervision.
• Build person-centered relationships with clients using a trauma-informed model.
• Collaborate with staff across divisions to provide holistic, client-centered representation.
• Document progress and client interactions in the case management system.
• Attend court appearances and visits with clients, and connect them to services.
