Job summary

La Frontera EMPACT - Suicide Prevention Center is seeking a Peer Support Specialist at our Maricopa, AZ location. The role requires personal lived experience with behavioral health services and the ability to navigate services for others.

Responsibilities include crisis intervention, coordinating community resources, and advocating for individuals in the ISP process. Certification within 90 days is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in the related behavioral healthcare field or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Experience working with adult system of care is required.
• Peer Support Certification is required within first 90 days of employment.
• Must be a recipient or have received services through the community behavioral health system.
• Must have the ability and willingness to share their experience of receiving behavioral health services.
• Must have a valid AZ driver's license with no major infractions in the past three years.
• Must have regular access to reliable transportation.
• Must have a Fingerprint clearance card or be eligible to obtain one.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish)
• Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Remain calm in crisis situations and work independently or with others.
• Coordinate and monitor RBHA/community-based resources and facilitate service delivery.
• Act as a consumer advocate and assist in the ISP process and crisis intervention.
• Engage and support individuals in accessing necessary services.
