Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) seeks a Scheduling/Pre-Registration Associate to process requests for procedures and tests from physician offices and patients using manual and automated scheduling systems.

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, you will obtain demographic, insurance and financial information and assist with pre-registration and financial screening while ensuring medical necessity and payer guidelines for authorizations are met.

Qualifications

• One year related work experience in a hospital, physician or medical insurance office.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• CHAA certification preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Process scheduling requests accurately and timely using scheduling systems.
• Obtain demographic, insurance and financial information; assist with pre-registration and financial screening.
• Handle routine patient inquiries and maintain records, with an excellent customer service orientation.
