Job summary

The Whole Child is hiring a Parent Educator in Cerritos, CA. This full-time, non-exempt role focuses on visiting families under Parents as Teachers (PAT) guidelines to foster positive parenting and child development.

Responsibilities include conducting personal visits, maintaining a 20–30 client caseload, and meeting productivity targets. Requires PAT certification annually and strong communication skills; bilingual candidates are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma and 2 years' supervised work with young children and/or parents.
• Must be PAT National Center certified annually after completing competency-based development.
• Must demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills essential for PAT competencies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct PAT-based personal visits with expectant parents and families with young children.
• Maintain a caseload of 20–30 active clients as per PAT guidelines.
• Meet productivity standards: up to 40 visits/month in year 1, up to 60 thereafter.
• Complete and submit visit notes within 3 business days in SFDB/Penelope.
• Engage families, connect them to services, and participate in outreach activities.
