Job summary

Holyoke Public Schools seeks a paraprofessional to support individual students or small groups, reinforcing concepts introduced by teachers and assisting with classroom equipment and materials.

You will help maintain behavioral logs, supervise students during drills and meal times, and assist with mobility and personal care as needed. A related Associate degree or 48 credits is required; bilingual Spanish is strongly encouraged.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher (or equivalent) required.
• Two years or 48 college credits or passing Parapro Assessment/WorkKeys.
• Bilingual (Spanish) encouraged; strong communication and teamwork essential.

Responsibilities

• Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Operates and cares for classroom equipment used for instruction.
• Assists in implementing behavioral programs and keeps logs/data.
• Supervises students during drills, assemblies, lunch, and field trips.
• Provides mobility and personal care assistance and helps with routine hygienic tasks.
