Job summary

Kanner & Pintaluga in Boca Raton, FL seeks a Trial Paralegal to work directly with attorneys on active cases and help prepare for trial. You will manage calendars, coordinate depositions, and perform document management using Office tools and Florida court e-filing.

Responsibilities include assisting with depositions, drafting pleadings and motions, preparing trial notebooks, and coordinating with experts and clients in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of paralegal experience.
• Experience with the discovery process.
• Experience e-filing in both state and federal courts a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate with clients and co-workers effectively and efficiently.
• Possess excellent organization skills and be able to multitask and prioritize workload.
• Prepare Trial Notebooks and Exhibit Lists.
• Have an ability to be cross-trained.
• Experience with reviewing medical records/ bills and coordinating appearances at trial preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain attorney’s calendar.
• Schedule depositions, pre-depositions, meetings, meditations, hearings.
• Document management using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe and SmartAdvocate
• E-file legal documents in Florida’s E-Portal System.
• Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
• Draft legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery demands/responses and subpoenas.
• Send out correspondence to parties/non-parties via email, regular mail, or certified mail.
• Communicate with clients.
• Set up Court Call or Zoom for hearings.
• Prepare Trial Notebooks and Exhibit Lists.
• Retain Experts for Trial.
• Attend 60 day before Trial meetings and Final Trial meetings.
• Complete trial logistic tasks.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
