Job summary

Westaff is hiring a Bilingual Packing Lead Assistant for a manufacturing client in SW Indy. The role blends hands-on packing, training, and daily production support, with pay at $24/hour and a 5:00AM-3:30PM, Mon-Fri schedule.

You will assist the Packing Lead with staffing, train new employees, cover packing positions during breaks, and ensure orders are properly packaged while maintaining a safe, organized workplace and contributing to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• One to two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Fluency in English and Spanish (reading, writing, speaking).
• Understanding of manufacturing operations and production processes.
• Ability to guide team members fairly and effectively.
• Ability to teach employees current and new work procedures.
• Clear communication and respectful handling of workplace disagreements.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Packing Lead with daily staffing assignments and production needs.
• Provide on-the-job training for new employees and document completed training.
• Step into packing positions when employees are absent or away for breaks, meetings, or other needs.
• Develop a thorough understanding of packing procedures and help coworkers follow them correctly.
• Help ensure orders are assigned and properly packaged.
• Support a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and OSHA standards, including required personal protective equipment.
• Support continuous improvement efforts in the packing department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
