Job summary

A PLUS COVERAGE, INC. is a property and casualty insurer specializing in excess and surplus (E&S) risks.

The P&C E&S Binding Production Underwriter role is full-time and based in multiple locations including LA, SF, TX, IL, NYC, with a focus on reviewing and underwriting new and renewal E&S business within guidelines. You will evaluate submissions, assess risk, determine terms and pricing, prepare quotes and binders, and work closely with retail agents and carrier partners.

Qualifications

• Strong property and casualty underwriting skills, with E&S and binding authority experience.
• Ability to review applications, loss runs, and supporting documents to support underwriting decisions.
• Effective communication and negotiation with agents and carriers to foster relationships.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple submissions and deadlines.
• Proficiency with common insurance and office software; able to learn carrier portals and rating platforms.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and underwrite new and renewal E&S business within established guidelines.
• Evaluate submissions, assess risk characteristics, and determine coverage terms, conditions, and pricing.
• Prepare quotes and binders and negotiate terms with agents and carriers.
• Maintain underwriting files and track pipeline and production metrics.
• Stay current on industry trends, carrier appetites, and regulatory requirements.
