Job summary

SER Metro-Detroit seeks a Recruitment and Intake Specialist to manage outreach, screen applicants, and determine eligibility for training services. You will also support social media outreach and coordinate with the Program Manager for documentation and data entry.

The role requires strong communication skills, bilingual capacity (English/Spanish), and willingness to work flexible hours. Office is located at 9301 Michigan Avenue, Detroit, MI 48210.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of customer service and/or outreach experience.
• General knowledge of outreach and recruitment practices.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn data tracking and management information systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, attention to detail.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate with staff, participants and partner agencies.
• Must demonstrate strong prioritization and organization on assigned projects.
• Ability to input basic data, prepare routine reports, file confidential records correctly, and type materials.
• Demonstrate self-motivation, initiative and persistence.
• Ability to interact with customers in a positive and productive manner.
• Ability to relate to a multiracial and multicultural group.
• Bilingual language skills (English/Spanish) required.
• Must possess a valid Michigan driver's license and have access to reliable transportation to travel to off-site locations/events.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (evenings/weekends).

Responsibilities

• Engage in outreach activities to recruit qualified applicants.
• Conduct orientation for candidates interested in the program.
• Collect and gather information and documents for eligibility certification.
• Advise customers on rights and responsibilities of programs.
• Verify documentation and prepare forms for submission to the Program Manager.
• Enter candidate information in electronic databases in a timely manner.
• Maintain detailed participant records in compliance with policies.
• Attend public events and job fairs to promote initiatives.
• Take videos and photographs during SER programming or events.
• Contribute to team efforts and perform other duties as assigned.
