Job summary

The Research Coordinator I – Outreach Specialist at Community Health Center will join the Patient Engagement Team to conduct outreach, enrollment and retention for the All of Us program in Connecticut. You will focus on enrolling participants, retainment, and occasional research tasks such as advisory board recruitment and coordination with the research team.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or related healthcare certifications or 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to problem solve, maintain priority and focus on assigned tasks
• Attention to detail and documentation
• Ability to follow procedures and protocols consistently
• Flexibility in work schedule and willing to travel throughout CT
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications
• Familiar with public health research concepts
• Knowledge of participatory research and community engagement
• Adaptability to change
• Patient relationship management and community engagement experience is a plus
• Bilingual, oral and written (Spanish/English) preferred
• Current driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Utilize outreach and recruitment methods to drive enrollment and retention
• Print and distribute outreach postcards and mailers and process responses
• Identify, screen and enroll patients in All of Us or ancillary studies
• Provide participants with overview of the program and answer questions
• Use Teach Back to assess understanding of the program
• Apply Motivational Interviewing to build rapport with patients
• Obtain informed consent for IRB approved protocols
• Administer surveys and record data
• Use data to assess outreach effectiveness
• Perform basic biometrics (e.g., waist circumference, weight, height)
• Assist with biospecimen collection and processing
• Schedule enrollment and retention appointments
• Conduct daily outreach via calls, in-person visits, email or mailings
• Raise awareness through community events, waiting room outreach, and educational sessions
