Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in vision.
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of vision terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assists ophthalmologists with preliminary eye exams and patient history.
• Gathers patient history and conducts diagnostic tests.
• Records intraocular pressure and visual acuity.
• Inputs data into the electronic health record system.
• Uses lensometer and auto-refractor and records data.
• Assists with dilation drops as directed by clinician.
• Maintains patient records (paper or EMR) with accuracy.
• Maintains sterile technique and clean exam rooms.
• Provides translation and helps patients understand instructions.
• Verifies insurance information and authorizations as needed.
