Job summary

Manna Food Center in Silver Spring, MD, seeks a Bilingual Nutrition Benefits Coordinator to bridge communities and assist SNAP applicants.

The role partners with local agencies and uses Salesforce, Excel, OneDrive, and SharePoint to record program data and prepare reports.

This is a hybrid position with at least four days in the office weekly; bilingual English/Spanish skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's in social services preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in community outreach, benefits navigation, customer service or related fields.
• Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.
• Knowledge of SNAP and other nutrition assistance programs preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities and promote food security.
• Comfort with flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Create outreach opportunities with partner agencies and community providers, especially for English learners, seniors, and ABAWDs.
• Distribute SNAP-related outreach materials to Montgomery County residents.
• Provide nutrition benefits application assistance and connect clients with additional resources.
• Record program data using Salesforce, Excel, OneDrive and SharePoint.
• Assist with accurate and timely contract reports.
• Use MD Benefit online portal to help residents with SNAP applications and review forms.
• Build partnerships with Community-Based Organizations across Montgomery County and Maryland.
• Attend state/local meetings on SNAP eligibility and program changes.
• Gather feedback and stories from applicants to support advocacy activities.
• Perform other duties to support team success.
