Job summary

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is hiring a Multi-Language Learner (MLL) Paraprofessional for Workman Elementary School. The role supports English learners, assists in planning and implementing learning activities, and helps with family communication.

Knowledge of EL methods and experience with children are essential. The position runs Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a starting hourly rate of $18.06.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Associates degree or higher, or 60 college credit hours, or approved test.
• Experience with school-age children in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of English Language methods.
• Bilingual candidates must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work with staff and parents.
• Ability to work with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Screen students for eligibility.
• Assist teacher in designing data-driven learning plans.
• Support classroom learning under the teacher's direction.
• Assist students with classroom assignments.
• Provide cultural information to support diversity.
• Help with parent/school communication.
• Attend EL program meetings and activities.
• Handle compliance documentation as directed.
• Travel to different sites to assist students.
• May provide supervision and basic clinic/first aid support.
