Job summary

Tooele County School District is seeking a Multilingual Learner Student Support Paraprofessional shared between Old Mill Elementary and Twenty Wells Elementary. The role provides academic, linguistic, and cultural support to English Learner students and assists with language assessments and family communication.

Responsibilities include direct instructional support, differentiated instruction, newcomer student orientation, progress documentation, and confidentiality adherence, all while working

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required (submit diploma or certificate within the job application).
• Minimum Age: Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional support to Multilingual Learner students under supervision.
• Assist in differentiated instruction and language development activities in the classroom.
• Support Newcomer students with orientation, registration, and access to resources.
• Assist students in understanding classroom content, assignments, and assessments.
• Facilitate communication between students, families, and school staff, including interpretation when appropriate.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to administration and teachers.
• Collaborate with administrators, teachers, counselors and staff to meet EL needs.
• Meet with ML students to check on academic progress and attendance as needed.
• Document students' progress and attendance tracking data.
• Assist with English proficiency assessments such as WIDA screenings and ACCESS.
• Support ML families with translation for meetings and events.
• Maintain confidentiality per district policies.
