Job summary

Tooele County School District is seeking a Multilingual English Learner Student Support Paraprofessional to assist MEL students across Grantsville area elementary schools. The role collaborates with MEL Facilitator and ELD teachers to provide academic, linguistic, and cultural support, administer language proficiency assessments, and facilitate communication between students, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish preferred for communication with families and students.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions and report progress to supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality and organize data related to student progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional support to Multilingual English Learner students under supervision.
• Assist in language development activities within the classroom setting.
• Support Newcomer students with orientation and access to resources.
• Communicate with students, families, and staff; provide interpretation when needed.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to administrators and teachers.
• Collaborate with district staff to support EL academic and social-emotional needs.
• Meet with students to track progress on grades, attendance, and assignments.
• Document student progress and mandated data reporting.
